MICHIGAN SNOWMOBILE
REGULATIONS Snowmobile Trail Permit: In addition to registration of a snowmobile in Michigan, or from another state or province, a person who desires to operate a snowmobile in this state needs to purchase a snowmobile trail permit sticker. The snowmobile trail permit sticker is valid for 1 year which begins October 1 and ends September 30 of the following year. Snowmobile trail permits are available at the following:

Trail Head Directions in Hartford MI The Van Buren Trail Head in the City of Hartford, is located on Prospect Street. ► Take N. Center Street from the light at West Main Street. ► Go north about 0.3 of a mile to Prospect Street (across from the High School) ► Go west on Prospect about 0.2 miles (just over the railroad tracks) on the south side of the street. There is parking at the Hartford trailhead but not in South Haven. In South Haven, it is suggested that you park at the Kal-Haven Trail Head and bike to the Van Buren Trail which is 2.3 miles to the south.
