Meeting Minutes
April 8, 2008

Hartford City Hall
Meeting called to order by Ron Sefcik, President at 12:00 p.m.
Board members present; Tad Moody, Natalie
Rios, Tammy Ackerman, Sheila Nye, and Ron Sefcik.
Absent Board Members; Pat Vawter, Shelia Darling, Kim Sinclair, and RoxAnn Isbrecht.
Yemi presented to the board request for
assistance for funding and participation for the Blue Print for Michigan
Downtowns. Funding should come from local organizations. The City of Hartford
needs to raise $15,000.00 in support and would then be eligible for a match
from the state. Also requested full participation during the 3 month meeting
developmental process. This project will improve aesthetically the city's
downtown. Ron motions to support Blue Print for Michigan Downtown project
with the City of Hartford, Tad seconded, (this motion was voted on by the
quorum present; Tad Moody, Natalie Rios, Ron Sefcik, Sheila Nye and Tammy
Ackerman) and the motion was passed.
The minutes from March were tabled to May meeting.
Treasurer's Report
Tad Moody presented the Treasurers report,
$4871.07 as of 3/31/08.
Discussion
-
Brief update on Strawberry Festival included discussion of Prince and Princess, Baking Contest, Volleyball Tournament, Pie Eating Contest, etc. Estimate from Bestway Disposal for Festival was $650.00 and they intend to do some sponsorship for main stage entertainment. Date for next meeting to be announced.

Awards for "Best-in ... 2007" from the Annual Dinner/ Meeting have been distributed per Ron Sefcik.

Ron was contacted by Danny DelaRosa representing Mattawan Days (August) requesting copy of our arts and craft vendors list and food vendors list. Motion made by Natalie to forward a list of our 2007 vendors name and phone number only (not location) to Danny DelaRosa, Mattawan Days, in the hopes that this will open future avenues. Tad seconded, Emma Sefcik opposed, motion passed.

The changes to the by-laws are still being worked on by Ron.
Ron motions to adjourn, Natalie seconds, meeting adjourned at 1:10 p.m.
