Meeting Minutes


April 13, 2010

12:00 NOON
at Hartford City Hall
 
 

Meeting was called to order by Sefcik at 12:05pm  

Members Present:  Darling (12:20); Moody; Nyhuis; Rodney-Isbrecht; Sefcik; Yannie

Members Absent:   Ackerman; Clark; Vawter;

Pledge of allegiance was said. 

Motion by Nyhuis, supported by Yannie to accept the March minutes as corrected. 

                        Motion carried

  Old business:

Strawberry Festival report:  
Many vendors have requested information and applications, have booked entertainment of Levi Riggs for Saturday at 6:00pm; Hartford Indian Emerald Vanguard will play after the parade; AA Amusements will be back with rides for ages 4 – 14, at a cost of $1.00 per/person, they will also be open Friday for elementary children from 9:00am – Noon, sponsored by the PTO. Saturday’s MC has been set for Saturday.  There will be no radio ads this year.  Boy Scouts have agreed to clean up after the festival, the Miss Hartford Teen contestants have agreed to volunteer.  Donations are coming in, but no business has agreed to sponsor the main stage entertainment.  This year’s festival will cost approximately $6,700.  Discussion to change the date of the Strawberry Festival to coincide with the race track events on the 4th of July as it brings in 2000 – 5000 people.  A committee of Yannie, Moody, Sinclair and Borden will bring back ideas and suggestions.    

 Treasurer's Report      

Bank balance at the end of March $5,728.78,  $1,727.92 total checks cleared, Deposits of $3,264, and no bills to pay, the CD will roll over in July with minimal interest lost if funds needed for Strawberry Festival.     

            Motion by Sinclair, supported by Rodney-Isbrecht, to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented.

            Motion carried

 Other business:  

► Moody thanked the Chamber and Volunteers who painted the east wall of Huffman’s building last year. It looks much better and would encourage new volunteers to get involved and how could we recruit new volunteers. 
► Discussion on having a parade downtown during Halloween Trick or Treating hours with maybe an outdoor movie in the Park and costume contest. 

► Sheila Darling resigned from the board immediately due to personal reasons.  

Adjourn the meeting at 12:45 P.M.
