Meeting Minutes
May 13, 2008

Meeting called to order by Ron Sefcik, President at 12:00 p.m.
Board members present; Tad Moody, Natalie
Rios, Ron Sefcik, Sheila Nye, Shelia Darling, Kim Sinclair

Discussion
-
Ron stated a letter has
been issued in support of the Blue Print For Michigan Downtowns, in
reference to Yemi's presentation on behalf of the City of Hartford at the
last meeting.

Strawberry Festival was
discussed in length; Coca-Cola has donated juice for kids for the
festival,11 radio ads, Paul Landecker will be with us on Friday with live
radio broadcast at 3 p.m., hula hoop contest, basketball hoop contest, bake
off, dunk tanks etc.
The next Strawberry
Festival meeting is scheduled for May 13, at City Hall at 7 p.m., please
try to attend.
We can not do a one-day
gaming license w/out 6 provisions required by the state which includes all
assets to be reverted back to the state in the event the C.0.C. dissolves.
According to our by-laws, our funds would be split between local
non-for-profits.

Southwest Michigan Council
dues is
$110, not too much
mileage there and a motion was presented to not renew by Natalie and
seconded by Tad, motion carried.

Kim made a motion to pay
Competent Secretarial Services the
$500
annual fee, this will be
paid going forward in Feb at Annual Meeting, Natalie seconded, Ron
abstained, motion carried.

Kim made a motion to pay
Concerts in the Park
$300
and Shelia Darling
seconded, motion carried.

Blossomtime and
Scholarship Float Committee run by Dennis Goss; a donation of $250
was motioned by
Natalie and seconded by Kim, motion carried.

The Board reviewed
paperwork for sponsorship for the Hartford Lions Club's
30
Annual Strawberry Run.
Ron made the motion to sponsor for
$300
and Natalie seconded, Kim
abstained, motion carried. This will put the C.O.C on the back of 400
t-shirts for the run.

American Legion requested
our presence at the Memorial Day Parade, Ron said that there would be
representation of the C.0.C. there.

Sister Lakes Big Foot 4th
of July Parade
Committee requested our presence at their event, tabled.

Chamber signs for
Spring/Summer “Spring into Summer” were presented, motion made by Natalie
to purchase the 2 signs from Sinclair Graphics and also to include the 2
signs for Strawberry Fest advertising. Tad seconds, motion carried.
Small signs to be added to
larger signs to display the web address. Motion to order 3 signs at $75 to
total $225 from Sinclair Graphics made by Natalie and seconded by Shelia
Nye. Kim abstains, motion carried.

Revised By-laws not yet
completed. Table until Strawberry Festival is over.
