Meeting Minutes
November 13 , 2007
12:00 NOON at Hartford City Hall
Meeting called to order by Sefcik at 12:05 pm
Pledge of allegiance was said

Motion by Sinclair supported by Rios to approve the minutes
of October 9, 2007 meeting.

Treasurer's Report
Checking
acct balance is $2,304.90 there were no deposits for the month. Received
check from Hartford Outlet for signage invoice.
Motion by Sinclair, seconded by Rios to pay Richter’s
Insurance $150.00 for bonds to cover the treasurer, president and secretary
also to pay bills as presented and accept the treasurer’s report.

Discussion

Discussion of shop local campaign, Holiday Extravaganza for
November/December 2007, a committee of Moody, Nye and Rios. Posters and
buckets have been completed; buckets will be placed at National City
Bank, Kellogg’s Hardware, and Harding’s you will enter for a chance to
win a gift certificate from a chamber members business. Customers can
put in a name and phone number or business card. Chamber members and
board members are also eligible. Advertisement on the sign in front of
Kellogg’s. Advertisement on Miller Thermometer sign, Cosy 93, and psa’s
to the Tri-City, Palladium, and Kalamazoo Gazette.

Sign insurance is complete and paper work has been sent in to Insurance
Management.

After Hours Events and Committee – J & B’s front office will be Katie’s
Closet with handmade things for sale.

Report by Nominating Committee – Darling and Rodney-Isbrecht accepted a
three year term still one seat to fill.

– 94 Corridor Development study meetings have been very informative Moody
would like to see the chamber do their own study with information on why
you should invest in Hartford and open a business here by compiling a
list of what is good about Hartford and point out the advantages of the
area. Tourist council has limited information on the chamber and the
specifics of the area. It may be advantages to market the area and the
chamber with a document/tri-fold/movie/cd if anyone is interested in
being on a committee be thinking about information and ideas to bring
back to the next meeting.

Sinclair on behalf of the Lions Club would like to recognize the chamber
for all their help in their success of the first Safety Jamboree.
New
Business:
Discussion on sign for the back of the business signs.
Motion by Rodney-Isbrecht supported by Sefcik to purchase
from Sinclair graphics two signs with winter theme to replace the fall signs
for the back of the entrance business signs and three separate signs with
shop locally when you can and check out local events at
www.hartfordmi.com.
Motion carried, Sinclair abstained.
Sefcik
will need help putting up the signs suggestion of selling advertisement on
the backs of the signs but need to address the guidelines before renting out
the space.
Motion by Sinclair, seconded by Sefcik to adjourn the meeting
at 1:15 P.M.
