    The Strawberry Festival, June 7-10, is in the forefront with new activities and events planned.   Festival meetings have various committees determined to give our festival an attractive image and make it enjoyable for all ages.  We are working to increase the number of arts and crafts vendors to twice the size of last year with a wider variety.  (HINT....we have an Iron Yard Ornament vendor coming.)
If you know of an arts and crafts vendor that would be a good addition, have them call us or visit the website for a vendor application.

   Pictures for the Prince, Princess, and Sweetest Strawberry Baby contest will be taken this Saturday, April 7th, 2007 by registration ONLY.  If your child is unable to keep their photo appointment, please call Cindy Birmele at 621-4878 to make further arrangements.  Voting boxes will be out soon with photos and voting instructions online.

   Our Entertainment Committee is working hard to finalize a variety of performers.  The full schedule of events will soon be posted on our website.

☼  Thanks to all who have volunteered their time to the Chamber Board and the festival - it's been a real encouragement and the group is growing.  If you are interested in helping with the Strawberry Festival, contact me or Natalie Rios.

  The next Strawberry Festival planning meeting is Tuesday, April 17th, 7:00 p.m. at Hartford City Hall.   We are in need of volunteers to help with children’s games and activities, Kiddie's Parade,  advertising, etc.  YES, there is room for you! 

  The 2006 festival was a success because of the generous giving by our chamber members and the community.  Our Strawberry Festival donation form was recently mailed to all businesses and organizations to help cover festival general expenses and entertainment.   This type of fund-raising worked well for everyone last year and no other solicitation is done by the Chamber.  Several have already returned their donation, which is very encouraging! 

☼  Cosy 98 has once again offered radio advertising for business, organizations, and the festival.  The price will be the same as last year - it's a real bargain!

  Final reminder . . . . Chamber memberships expired on December 31, 2006.  If your business or organization’s name is NOT on the list below, we haven’t received your renewal.  The CoC designations in the Hartford Business Directory (click here to view the directory) on our website are updated according to this list.  Our new 2007 Chamber brochure, which also appears on our website, will be printed at the end of April.  If your business name is not on our list - it won't be included in our updated Chamber brochure.  It’s not too late, send in your membership renewal payment today.  We’d be happy to reinstate your membership status or welcome new members.
