☼ The Strawberry Festival schedule of events is now on line at http://www.hartfordmi.com/coc/Directory/Calendar/Local%20events%202007.htm#Jun. Check it out to see what we have planned for this year. ☼ The Prince and Princess - Sweetest Strawberry Baby contests are underway with voting boxes available at Hardings, Chemical Bank, and RiteAid Pharmacy this next week of May 7th. Like last year, photos and voting instructions will also be posted online with a link from the top section of the opening page for the Hartford website www.hartfordmi.com. Be sure to send the link to all your friends and relatives across the country to view and vote for their favorite Hartford kids. ☼ Cosy 98 has once again offered radio advertising for business, organizations, and the festival.
Advertise your business on Radio If you are interested in the radio ads for your business, and I happen to miss calling on you, please contact me at 621-4349 or click here to send me an email. We have 10 sponsors already signed up, but have room for many more...don't miss out on this i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e advertising bargain and the door is closing soon! ☼ Click on these links to Arts and Crafts, Food Vendor, Strawberry Run, Motorcycle show and Strawberry Ride for Autism Awareness, Car-Tractor Show and Saturday Parade applications for the Strawberry Festival, which are on our website www.hartfordmi.com under the Local Events section. No application or signup is required for the Friday Kiddie's Parade - EVERYONE is invited to participate. Come on out and see what great kids we have in Hartford! ☼ The next Strawberry Festival planning meeting is Tuesday, May 15th, 7:00 p.m. at Hartford City Hall. We are in need of volunteers to help with games and activities, Kiddie's Parade, etc. YES, there is room for you! ☼ We are still in need of donations to help cover Strawberry Festival general expenses and entertainment. Click here to download the Chamber Strawberry Festival donation form that was recently mailed to all businesses and organizations. This type of fund-raising worked well for everyone last year and no other solicitation for the festival is done by the Chamber. Receipts will be issued for Chamber sponsored events only. ☼ Hartford Community Cleanup is planned for Saturday, May 12th, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in Ely Park. Plans are to clean up Ely Park - paint the pavilion, gardening, trash pick up; downtown area and to clean up as much graffiti as possible; along Center Street and the Strawberry Run route. Many hands will help this project go quickly and make our community presentable for the Strawberry Festival visitors. Please consider giving a few hours to lend a hand toward this much needed cleanup task of our community. We have discussed this project several times at Chamber meetings - many thanks to Kim Sinclair for pulling this event together. ☼ Don’t forget school board elections on May 8th at Hartford Township Hall, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. It is the voting location for all city AND township residents for this school board election only. ☼ Please consider this an invitation to get involved with Neighborhood Watch. The simple act of getting to know your neighbors, watching out for - and reporting - suspicious activity has proven to improve the quality of life in communities all over the country. This can work in your neighborhood too. The next meeting is Thursday, May 10th , 7:00 pm at City Hall with our featured speaker, John Huizenga, Columbia Township Neighborhood Watch Coordinator. With over 300 members, Columbia Township was named the #1 Watch in Michigan. Mr. Huizenga will pass along news from the Michigan Neighborhood Watch meeting in Lansing. For additional information, contact Kim Sinclair 621-3651. ☼ Have a community event? Chamber member(s) Local Events are listed for FREE on our website. For non-Chamber member Local Events, email the webmaster for listing fee. Click here to email details for Hartford events ONLY. ☼ Final reminder . . . .
