comprised of area band directors, community members and SMC students. It

Bootlegg
- Barbershop

This quartet includes three brothers and a friend, and
has performed together since High School. They are a very personable group
who enjoy interacting with their audience. If you think of barbershop
music as being soft and quiet, just wait until you hear this upbeat
quartet!! This is bootlegg’s third year performing at the Hartford
Concert in the Park series, and everyone wanted them back! They are
very popular with our concert audience and have their own "groupies" in Hartford.

Lake Effect Jazz Band -
Jazz
The heart and soul of the Lake Effect Jazz Big Band are music
educators from southwest Michigan. The essence of jazz is positive
self-expression and without teachers like these in the band, this American
art form is in danger of fading. This group
includes Chris Keech, a 1983 graduate of Hartford High School. “Hot
Jazz” and a beautiful evening in the park should make Hartford a great
place to be on the 21st of June.

tunes or patriotic music done in 4-part barbershop harmony? If so, you

The chorus received a tremendous honor in 2004 by representing the Pioneer
District in the Small Chorus Contest at the world-renowned and prestigious
Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
Returning for their 3rd performance - everyone loves to hear this group
perform!

Westwind Tuba Quartet
- Variety
A tuba Quartet?? Four Tubas ?? Tubas?? Well, actually,
2 Euphoniums (Tenor Tubas) and 2 Bass Tubas constitute the tuba quartet.
Normally, they perform with 5 players because the high part is just too
physically demanding for a single player. But the music is written for a
quartet. What kind of music does a tuba quartet play? They play just
about anything including, Classical, Dixieland, Polka, Waltz, Jazz, Swing,
Latin, Sacred and more. The quartet is under the direction of F.D.
Patrick.
Come out on July 5th, and hear this very unique quartet.

The Misfits -
Comedy Chorus-Variety

Enjoy musical comedy and dancing.
You will love this chorus of approximately 35 performers, all dressed-up in
their personally designed costumes, and directed by Joan Nozicka. The
Misfits have performed over 500 shows during their 12 years performing.
Their 2005 program included patriotic songs, military songs, and songs
popular in the 40’s during World War Two.
Regardless of what their program includes, they always bring smiles and
laughter to their audience.

Magic
Accordion Show
with
Richard Krizen

Richard “magically”
makes his accordion sound like a six to ten piece band, and includes a
light show for your enjoyment. His wide variety of music includes polkas,
pop, oldies, and even a little country. The
Magic Accordion Show opened our 2005 concert
series and every year the audience votes to bring back the "Accordion Guy",
so Richard's magic Accordion Show is back by popular demand.
Come out to the Park and see what makes
"The
Accordion Guy" such a popular performer!!

Celtic
Roots - Celtic-Folk

One of our favorite groups. With instruments like the hammered
dulcimer, flutes, mandolin, harp and the bagpipes, the Celtic Roots will
play their blend of Irish, Scottish and Renaissance music. Their music is
always uplifting and enchanting. Whether it’s a Scottish March on the
bagpipes, or a haunting melody on the dulcimers, their music is beautiful
and very unique.
And where else can you hear Irish jigs and the bagpipes at one concert in
your local park?

Hartford Alumni Band -
Big Band and Swing
Hartford High School alumni
from the 40’s and 50’s, playing music they know best,
big
band, and swing. This is always a
well-attended concert. Everyone enjoys the music from this era, especially
performed by musicians who learned to play during this era, and that have
performed together for many years. These accomplished musicians
are a real treat for everyone!
Come on out to swing and sway with the HHS Alumni Band.

The Envoys
- Southern Gospel

Bass Singer, Doyle Ramsey, is a 1964 graduate of Hartford High School. This
was a great concert last year and everyone enjoyed their family-oriented a foot tapping, hand clapping
southern gospel performance. The Oakridge Boys have nothing over on this group.
Our only questions is:
How did a Hartford Michigan native-son, and a
Northern Indiana father and his two sons learn to sing
Southern Gospel???
You won't want to miss
this concert - they are good!
