The programs are free to all
children and adults. To participate in the reading program, children need
to read and record the books and number of pages they read each week on the
reading log sheets. For every 10 pages read the child will earn 1 book
buck. The book bucks can be used to purchase prizes from our prize room.
All the children that participate in the reading program are eligible for
the trip to Sarrett Nature Center.
Wednesday, June 14 –
1:00pm to 2:00pm
The Nature
Detective -
See several Michigan animals and
explore their adaptations for survival in the wild.
Wednesday, June 21 – 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Birds
of Prey -
See live raptors (falcon, hawk & owl) up
close, participate and learn what makes them unique.

Wednesday, June 28 –
1:00pm to 2:00pm
Animal Magic with Gordon the Magician -
Gordon and his trusty sidekick, George the
Raccoon will be showing you the world of magic.
Wednesday, July 5 –
1:00pm to 2:00pm
The Joel
Tacey Comedy Variety Show - BIG
fun and BIG laughs comedy show with trick juggling, cool gadgets and
edge-of-your-seat stunts with audience participation.

Animal
Balloons -
Jim Merrills is back to tickle our funny
bones and show us how to make animals from balloons.
Wednesday, July 19 – 1:00pm

A Visit from
the John Ball Zoo -
You will be introduced to three great
animals from the zoo and learn lots of interesting facts about them.
Wednesday, July 26 –
12N to 2:30pm
Visit
to Sarrett Nature Center -
Bring a brown bag lunch and board the bus
for a picnic at Sarrett Nature Center. We will have lunch on the lawn
followed by a program and nature walk.
All programs are free. During the
seven week period, the children read and record their books each week. Book
“bucks” are awarded based on the number of pages read. The children
can use their book bucks to purchase prizes from our prize room. All
children who complete the program by reading books will be eligible for the
Visit to Sarrett Nature Center.
Last year, the children read a total of
86,978 pages during the time period.
