July 27, 1953 - cease-fire signed.
The United States, North
Korea and China sign an armistice, which ends the war but fails to bring
about a permanent peace.

was because a United States General was captured while inspecting an
encloser on the island where the Korean Prisoners were held. This
prompted combat Military Police to reinforce the island.

They raised six children who all completed college and have successful
careers.

until his death from cancer in January, 2005.
