Who are they?

| Hartford Stadium Bleachers |
|
This photo is of my
grandparents, Forrest L. and Marguerite Shire. Forrest was responsible for
the section of bleachers from the St. Joseph Auto Specialties baseball
field being given to Hartford High School. The bleachers are on the home
side of the present football field.
Grandpa Forrest, as we called him,
was the plant manager of the St. Joseph Auto Specialties making parts for
air craft used in WWII. He tried to enlist, but was involved in
industry as a plant manager doing work critical to the war effort,
(manufacturing aircraft brakes). He was not allowed to enlist because
of this critical line of work.
