Precious Pearls and Gems

Date

Along my journey into the past, I've discovered a few very special pearls I'd like to share.  Enjoy the past and present talents of our hometown folk...

The Pack - poem written by Rebekah Sells in 2002.  Inspiring visionary perception of a present-day youthful peek into the past.  Rebekah is a Junior at Hartford High School in the 2001-2002 school year.

2002

Blossom Time In Michigan song written by Mary Watson Simpson of Hartford, as appeared in a Day Spring newspaper article.

May 1926

The American World, 2001 - poem written by Claire Chamberlin Olds, formerly of Hartford, shortly after the terrorist attack on the New York Twin Towers. (She also served in WW11)

Sept 2001

Right Hand Man - by Emily Winkel - First Place in State and National Hispanic Heritage Student Art-Essay Competition. Emily is an 8th grade student at Hartford Middle School.

Oct 2005
Nov 2005

Just a minute ago it was spring and we were young - By Don Burg.
A captivating reflection on the passage of time.
